1. The Maasai Girls Rescue & Empowerment Program in Arusha
Focus: Ending Female Genital Mutilation (FGM), child marriage, and early pregnancies.
Volunteers Needed: Social workers, educators, counselors, gender experts, youth advocates.
Impact: Immediate rescue and educational empowerment for young girls facing harmful traditional practices.

At TanzaniGo, we understand how important it is for volunterers to feel safe, comfortable, and supported during their time abroad. That’s why we offer two thoughtfully selected accomodation options: staying with a trusted local host family or in a well-maintained apartment. Both experiences are designed to enhance your journey while ensuring you feel at home from the moment you arrive.
Choosing to live with a family is a deeply enriching cultural experience. Our families are carefully chosen for their warmth, hospitality, and commitment to making volunteers feel part in daily routines, and learn firsthand about Tanzanian traditions, values, and way of life. It’s the perfect choice for those who want to fully immerse themselves in the local culture and build meaningful relationships.
Alternatively, our apartment provide a more independent living arrangement, ideal for volunteers who prefer a bit more privacy. These accomodations are located in safe neighborhoods, close to project sites, and come equipped with basic amenities to ensure comfortable stay. Our local team is always available to assist and provide support whenever needed.
Whichever option you chopse, you can trust that TanzaniGo is here to make your stay enjoyable, secure, and memorable. We personally inspect the accomodation and maintain clse relationships owners to ensure high standards. Your well-being and positive experience are our top priorities.
PRICES FOR OUR VOLUNTEERS AT TANZANIGO
Apartments:
$250 per week - Includes 3 meals per day, WiFi, and all basic amenities. Ideal for those who want more independence while still enjoying a comfortable and social environment
Host Family (Homestay):
$200 per week - Includes 3 meals per day and the chance to immerse yourself in Tanzanian culture by living with a warm and welcoming local family
Daily Rate:
Prices range from $30 to $40 per day, depending on the type of accomodation and duration of stay
